Too big and heavy for a small breed even though bought the smallest size, also the chrome hardware is turning bronze after 3 months

Within one use, the Hazel leash and collar, as well as the matching poop bag holder (where the rubber logo is on the front) all have brown dirt stains. I live in Michigan, and am just transporting my small lapdog to and from the car in the usual dirty slushy watery terrain in winter, but not roughing it in a ton of dirt or mud. This is not acceptable; in my opinion, for the premium cost of Max Bone products, I’d expect to wipe this type of a silicone material clean without any problems. I believe the quality of the plastic/rubber is poor because it’s clearly absorbent and porous. With consumers in mind, the material should be really care free. I have the Coco leather versions of this, and I purchased the Hazel options due to what appeared to be weather resistance. I’m disappointed and I regret my purchase. The only good thing about this item is the pretty purple color.
